CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. — A 78-year-old man died 10 days after suffering injuries from a crash on U.S. 19 in Citrus County.

The crash occurred on September 15 around 9:10 p.m. on U.S. 19 near West Jump Court. 

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 78-year-old David Nicholson, Jr. was traveling southbound on U.S. 19 on his motorcycle when an unknown vehicle changed lanes into Nicholson's path. 

Nicholson steered away from the vehicle and crashed into several construction barrels and was thrown from his bike. 

Nicholson was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and died on September 25.
