CLEARWATER, Fla. — Two people were found dead inside a Clearwater home Saturday afternoon, according to police.

  • Elderly couple found dead inside Clearwater home
  • Family member called police after discovering the bodies
  • No suspect information released

Officers responded to 1033 Flushing Avenue just before 2 p.m. where they found David Swan, 88, and his wife Mina Swan, 80.

Joel Locke, a neighbor, says he last saw the couple on Thursday. On Friday morning, a newspaper and new phone book were left outside.

Locke says when Saturday's paper went untouched, he contacted Mina Swan's children.

"It didn't feel right," he said. "Something was wrong."

Officials say a family member called police after discovering the couple dead inside the home. Police would not comment how long the couple had been there.

"I keep thinking I'm waking up tomorrow and everything's going to go back to normal," Locke said. "But that's obviously not going to happen."

Officials have not released any information about a possible suspect, but say it is likely an isolated attack.

The investigation is ongoing.
