ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — City police said a man shot a woman in front of a home and later fatally shot himself.

It happened about 7:15 Sunday.
Officers said Marty Zerrell Stone, Jr., 29, shot Jasima McKinnie, 29.
Stone left the scene on foot and died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound a few blocks away.
McKinnie is in serious condition at Bayfront Health.
Police said the two were in an "on again, off again" relationship.
The investigation is still under way.
