CLEARWATER, Fla. — A reckless driver crashed into a home late Thursday night in Clearwater. 

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, the driver of the vehicle was hospitalized after losing control of the car and crashing into the home at 1943 King's Highway, near Sunset Point Road. 

Deputies said a 2014 silver Cadillac being operated in a reckless manner was spotted in the area of Fairmont St and Kings Hwy around 10 p.m. 

Though not a pursuit, deputies observed the vehicle which then crashed into the home. The 27-year-old driver of the car was taken by ground to a local hospital.

The driver, later identified as John Langs, was taken into custody and charged with possession of crack cocaine, felony driving with suspended license and reckless driving.

The crash remains under investigation.
