HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Florida – A woman was killed Saturday after she was hit by a falling palm tree at Egmont Key Park, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

The woman, identified as 20-year-old Isabel Melendez, was lying in a hammock at the time of the incident. She was taken to Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, where she was pronounced dead.

The Sheriff's Office said her death does not appear to be suspicious. Deputies with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is assisting with the investigation.
