LAKELAND, Fla. — Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office surrounded a Lakeland home late Thursday after someone fired shots, according to the agency.

Deputies were originally called to the house near the intersection of Skyview Drive and Goodyear Avenue around 7:30 p.m. in response to a domestic violence investigation.

While on scene, deputies heard shots fired. No deputies reportedly hit by fire or injured. Neighboring homes were then evacuated.

No further information has been released.
