TAMPA, Fla. -- A popular Tampa barber was killed Saturday in a motorcycle crash, according to police.

  • Memorial to be held on Nov. 10 at Ybor City Tattoo Company

The crash happened at the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Nebraska Avenue.

The motorcyclist was later identified as 33-year-old Johnny Lopera.

Lopera, who owned Cigar City Barbershop in Ybor City, leaves behind a wife and a 1-year-old daughter.

A message was posted on the barbershop's Facebook page.

"Unfortunately due to recent circumstances, the shop will remain closed until further notice," the post read. "I apologized for any clients missed and unaccounted for. There will be updates shortly. Thank you for your prayers and patience."

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Lopera's family. At last check, more than $8,500 had been raised.

A memorial and fundraiser will be held for Lopera on November 10 at the Ybor City Tattoo Company from 12 p.m. - 10 p.m. Money raised from the event will go to Lopera's family.
