ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A pedestrian was killed Wednesday evening after he was struck by a car on 4th Street North in St. Petersburg, according to police.

The crash reportedly occurred around 7:15 p.m. in the 6300 block of 4th Street North. The pedestrian, a man whose identity has not yet been released, died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. 

Police shut down 4th Street North in both directions between 62nd Avenue and 65th Avenue for the duration of their investigation.
