PLANT CITY, Fla. -- Now that Thanksgiving has passed, many people are getting into the Christmas spirit by decorating their houses.

  • Christmas Trail in Plant City
  • Features lights, decorations, place to meet Santa
  • No cost to enter the trail

But one family in Plant City has taken it to the next level, creating a full winter village and trail for the community to enjoy.

Zach Glaros has been creating Christmas memories with lights and displays since he was a kid.

"I always grew up at my parent's house doing large Christmas displays when I was like nine or 10 years old they gave me a lot of their own decorations and said here decorate the backyard it's yours," Glaros said.

From then his passion only continued to grow, leading him to start "The Christmas Trail" in 2015.

It has a little bit of everything, from beautiful lights to a Jack Frost show and even a place to meet Santa.

"I wanted something different you know we've got a snowball corral fight out here we've got the trail itself with lights it's set to a story kids and their parents can go through it and read the story itself," Glaros said.

Glaros and his team of volunteers have entertained thousands over the last three years.

The volunteers say it's the homegrown touches that make this display so special.

"We have such a community and family feel," Sam Alldredge said. "I mean it's fun for little kids it's fun for adults."

It takes about four weeks to get everything set up, but Glaros said seeing the smiles on everyone's faces makes it worth it.

"So many guests come out here and you can see the twinkle of magic in their eye because of what you've created and that's pretty awesome," he said.

There's no cost to enter the trail, which officially opens on December 7.
