BRANDON, Fla. — A 56-year-old man died early Sunday after a single-vehicle crash in Brandon.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Rickey Charles was northbound on Kingsway Avenue in his 2008 blue Honda Accord when he appeared to have suffered a medical event.
His vehicle went off of the right shoulder of the roadway, just south of Palm Avenue, crossed Palm Avenue and struck a chain link fence on the northeast corner of Palm Avenue and Kingsway Avenue.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue transported him to Brandon Regional Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 6:53 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
