ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A woman remains in critical condition and her mother is seriously injured after a crash involving a stolen car.

The women were hurt Saturday just before 3 p.m. when their PT Cruiser was struck on 18th Avenue S and 25th Street by a group of young men in a stolen car. 

According to police, the 67-year-old woman driving the PT Cruiser has serious injuries while her 46-year-old daughter is dealing with critical injuries. 

St. Petersburg police took four men into custody: Carl McKinley, 20; Lazarius Faulk, 19; Clifford Washington, 19; and Jaquez Rouse, 18.

Officials have not confirmed which man was driving the stolen vehicle. Charges against the men are still pending. 

Meanwhile, St. Petersburg police said the stolen vehicle was spotted by officers but there was no pursuit of the car.
