The theft occurred sometime Tuesday morning in Temple Terrace. Rebecca Perry, 12, had just returned from a great camping trip with her fellow Cub Scouts.

"I like going camping, I think it’s really fun to go out with friends and hang out," Rebecca said.

But on Tuesday morning when she left for her school with her dad and Cubmaster, Christopher Perry, they noticed the trailer they used for the trip was missing.

"My daughter said 'where is the trailer?' The trailer was gone out of the yard. I panicked. I thought it was a joke at first," Perry said.

Perry couldn’t believe someone would take the trailer from his home. It was clearly marked for the Cub Scouts.

"It's very much a big setback," Perry explained. "Our Pack, we don’t have a lot of money. So whatever we use, we use to help our scouts, to provide them with a good, wholesome experience."

The trailer was packed with items such as tents, cooking equipment, fishing poles and other supplies.

While Perry hopes to get it back, he’s also using the incident as a teaching moment for his scouts.

"You can forgive. Scout is friendly," Perry said. "It’s going to be hard, but I hope if they truly need help, they ask for help and get it."

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. If you happen to see the trailer or have any information on who took it, contact the the sheriff’s office.
