NATIONWIDE Breakfast food manufacturer Jimmy Dean is recalling sausage links after some consumers said they found small metal fragments inside, according to the company.

Consumers reported finding small pieces of metal

In a news release, CTI Food LLC, which is a co-manufacturer of the Jimmy Dean Heat 'n Serve Original Sausage Links, issued a voluntary recall of 29,028 pounds of that brand of sausages. In a statement released by the company, some consumers reported they had found small, string-like fragments of metal in the product.

About 2,845 cases of the links were made in early August of 2018.

Affected products:

• Establishment code: M19085 or P19085
• Use By date: January 31, 2019
• UPC number: '0-77900-36519-5. 

There haven't been any reports of adverse reactions or injuries, according to the Department of Agriculture. Anyone who bought the particular brand should cut the UPC and date code from the package, throw the sausages away and call 1-855-382-3101.
