The crash occurred on Darlington Road in Holiday. Homeowner Israel Perez said he was in the house at the time of the crash, but in another room away from where the van struck.

“I heard the big noise. When I looked over, I saw the wall coming inside the house,” Perez said.

The van came off Darlington Road into the side of the house. The home's kitchen bore the brunt of the damage.

The van also knocked down a tree and a fence.

The van belongs to Aquafina Pool Supplies, a company based in New Port Richey.

Owner Tony Barbaro says it was his son driving the van, and that the people in the house rushed to his son’s aid.

“They were more worried about him being OK than the damage to the house," Barbaro said. "Luckily, they were sitting inside, but they weren’t up against the wall."

His son was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

It’s not clear yet what led to the crash. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
