OCALA, Fla. — A Marion County Sheriff's sergeant has been arrested on domestic violence charges.

Donald Buie, 46, a 19-year Sheriff's Office employee, is facing multiple charges, including false imprisonment, battery by strangulation, and assault, the Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
The agency said that detectives got information related to the battery by strangulation charge on Monday and that he was arrested "following an in-depth investigation." It said investigators got reports indicating that there was a history of incidents.
Buie has been placed on leave without pay pending the outcome of his case and is being held without bond.
No other details were released.
