TAMPA, Fla. — A Tampa family is asking for one thing this Christmas — to have their son back home after going missing four months ago.

Gathering around the Christmas tree won't be the same for Jahmila and Michael Shine this year.  Their son Michael Shine III, 17, went missing on August 15.  His family last saw him when he left their house in west Tampa that morning to meet friends and go to school.

"I spent the whole day looking at the front door, hoping he would come through the door," Michael Shine II said. "I don't know if he's eating properly. If he's warm. If he has enough clothes."

The family has been in regular contact with the Tampa Police Department, who told the family they're optimistic he can still be found.

Shine's parents said that their hope and faith are keeping them going during the holidays.

"If Michael can hear us or is capable, come home. No questions asked. Or if you have my child or know anything, just say something."

Anyone with information is asked to call the police department at 813-231-6130.
