PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A Pinellas County chiropractor was arrested last week and charged for allegedly abusing two children in his home shortly after Christmas 2018, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

  • Marc Rogers, 48, facing two counts of child abuse
  • Rogers allegedly choked one child until she was "seeing dots"
  • Bonded out on January 5

According to an arrest report, in late December Marc Rogers, 48, was caring for two children at his home. He reportedly got upset with one of them after that child contacted another adult, saying she did not want to spend the night at Rogers's house and wanted to leave.

The report goes on to describe Rogers "squishing" one of the children between a door and a wall and throwing the two children into each other, knocking them both over before one child was picked up by a relative.

Rogers then reportedly continued hitting the other child. Investigators said he yanked her from the bed, got on top of her and choked her, as well as scratching and kicking her.

The child told deputies Rogers choked her until at one point she "saw dots."

Rogers, meanwhile, allegedly told his ex-wife he "covered her mouth" to stop her from screaming and waking up the neighbors.

Deputies did note in their report that the child had bruises and cuts.

The report does not specify what Rogers's relationship was to the children.

Rogers works at Coastal Chiropractic Rehab and Wellness in Largo. The clinic's website features an undated post in which Rogers talks about his love for children.

"There's no more important job than being a good dad!" the post reads.

Rogers was released on bond on January 5.
