DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A Citrus County man accused of attacking a partially-blind man dressed in a Minion costume over the summer has been sentenced to 10 days in jail.

Officials said the incident occurred on July 8 outside a souvenir shop next to the Daytona Beach Boardwalk

According to a police report, Ryan Nihart, 25, approached the victim, Jamie Roehm, 40, and "began to get rough."

Despite the victim telling Nihart to stop, police said he picked up Roehm, swung him, and slammed him to the pavement — all while witnesses encouraged him.

Police said Roehm, of Ormond Beach, received bruises from the attack but refused medical attention.  The Minion suit, worth $300, was destroyed, the store owner said.

Nihart, of Homosassa, was charged with battery and criminal mischief.
