NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — Pasco County deputies are searching for a group of guys that jumped a teenager in New Port Richey.

The attack happened on Overton Drive as 15-year old Geoffrey Lehman was walking home from Gulf High School on Wednesday.

The teen was left with bruises and missing three of his teeth, including a fracture of his gum line.

Surveillance video from a neighbor catches it all as it happened.

You can see two men following Lehman before they attack him. Then a truck pulls up as two others get out and join the attack.

Lehman had just texted his mom, Stephanie Byrd, worried that he was being followed.

“It was horrifying knowing something was happening to my kid and I wasn’t there to protect him,” Byrd said in an interview on Saturday.

Byrd tells us her son is scared to even leave the house. He has no idea who attacked him.

“He had teeth and they took them from him. He doesn’t deserve to not have a smile,” Byrd said.

Deputies are now investigating.

The video shows the suspects fleeing in an older model teal pickup truck toward State Road 54.

“Everybody’s mad and upset. They want to find these guys. We don’t want it to happen again to anyone else. My son didn’t deserve any of this,” Byrd said.

The suspects stole the victim’s cell phone and wallet, which only had $10.

If you have any information, contact PCSO at 1-800-706-2488 and reference case #19-07661.

Byrd is looking into dental surgery to fix her son's smile. She has started a GoFundMe to help with his dental bills.
