Lesley Hayes says she was more than a block away from the nightclub Prana — after being accused of throwing a glass at the bartender — when the bouncer from the club approached her.

A video captured the encounter and next it shows a Tampa police officer appearing and is trying to arrest another woman, while Hayes is held by the bouncer.

Then things escalate, as the officer appears to be trying to restrain Hayes. The video ends before Hayes is put in handcuffs.

According to a report, the officer said Hayes was resisting arrest and she was under attack, so her training kicked in.

However, Hayes and her attorney see it differently and they do not think the bouncer should have put his hands on Hayes.

"It's hard for me to watch it. It's hard for me to listen to it," said Hayes.

"… He had no right to put his hands on her. Period," said her attorney, Kelly McCabe.

Hayes is facing five charges, including battery on a law enforcement officer and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

She also says she was fired from her job because of this incident.

The Tampa Police Department stated it is obtaining all the facts for its internal investigation and stated neither women have filed an internal affairs complaint with the department.
