CLEARWATER, Fla. — The family of a Clearwater couple found dead inside their home last year announced Friday they're increasing the reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.

It's been six months since family members of David Swan, 88, and his wife, Mina, 80, were notified the couple had been killed inside their Clearwater home.

Mina Swan's daughter, Noel Devine, struggles to hold back tears when she talks about what life has been like without her mom.

"We have kids, we have grandkids. They were her family, she loved them dearly. There's nothing more difficult than trying to explain to a child what happened," Devine said.

The family held a press conference on the six-month anniversary to announce they're increasing the reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.

The reward is now up to $50,000.

"The one thing that can help us is finding answers to what happened," Devine said.

Clearwater Police said they've literally collected hundreds of pieces of evidence, interviewed people who knew the couple, and reviewed surveillance video. However, they haven't been able to solve the case or make an arrest.

"Like some homicides, it just takes that little piece of information to pull this all together," said Detective Brian Kanicki.

Police do not think it was a random act, but the family said the Swans had no known enemies.

David Swan's daughter, Janet Lowrey, said the family believes someone knows what happened. She pleaded with that person to come forward.

"You have the power to put our hearts at rest," Lowrey said. "You have the power to stop the emotional roller coaster of fear in our young children. You have the power to stop someone from committing more murders. Please make a phone call, take the reward and use the money to change your life."
