AUBURNDALE, Fla. — The start of hurricane season is only a few weeks away, and two hurricane expos in the Tampa area Saturday helped residents get ready.

The Auburndale Hurricane Expo took place Saturday morning at the Auburndale Civic Center on Park Street in Auburndale. 

The expo was a one-stop-shop for everything you need to know to prepare for storm season. Experts from Lowes were on hand to show you the latest ways to prepare for the season. 

City public safety and utility officials were also available to answer questions.

And Spectrum Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez, was on hand at our Spectrum Bay News 9 booth, handing out mini-lanterns and answering hurricane-related questions. 

Meanwhile in Crystal River, Citrus County Emergency Management hosted its 16th annual All Hazards and Hurricane Expo Saturday at the Crystal River Armory.

Spectrum Bay News 9 chief meteorologist Mike Clay was on hand to meet with folks and answer hurricane season questions. There were safety demonstrations, emergency equipment on display, prizes and giveaways.
