PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — Pasco County officials issued a boil water notice for customers in the Crystal Springs area Friday afternoon.

The notice affects 404 customers near 1609 Old Crystal Springs Road, according to the county. The water distribution system used by residents and businesses in that area lost pressure within the past 12 hours.

As a precautionary measure, county officials advised that all water used for drinking or cooking be boiled. A roiling boil for one minute is sufficient.

In addition, ice cube makers should be shut off and any ice made within the last 12 hours should be discarded.

The notice will remain in effect until normal water service is restored and a bacteriological survey shows the water is safe for drinking and cooking.
