INVERNESS, Fla. — It took a few tries, but a small plane with failing landing gear was eventually able to land safely at Inverness, according to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office.

Officials said county fire, EMS, and law enforcement, all converged on the airport once the plane's situation was reported.
