After a dry spell in May, June returned us to a rainy pattern early in the month that brought back green lawns.  Rainfall was above normal in most locations, even much above normal in some spots such as Brooksville which had almost a foot of rain.

But not every location had above normal rainfall.  Both reporting sites in Manatee County reported below normal rainfall in June.  Downtown St. Petersburg at Albert Whitted Airport also had below normal rain for the month.

Just like all of the previous months this year, June had above normal temperatures with some spots in our area hitting 100 degrees.  Tampa’s hottest temperature ever has been 99 in June 1985.  Once again this year we hit 98 at Tampa International Airport but stayed just shy of the all-time record.
