TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. — A vote scheduled for Tuesday could extend alcohol sales in Treasure Island until 3 a.m.

Currently, bars close in Treasure Island no later than 2 a.m.

Some officials say that puts Treasure Island businesses at a disadvantage since almost everywhere else in Pinellas County stays open an extra hour.

Even local law enforcement reported no significant increase in crime other communities that have the later cut off time.

The city commission meeting, held at City Hall at 120 108th Avenue, begins at 6 p.m.
