ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — With the current pattern, the scattered storms decrease in coverage overnight but perk back up near sunrise.

With that in mind, expect partly cloudy skies from now through sunrise with just a few isolated storms. Expect the coverage to increase after sunrise, however with storms moving in from the Gulf of Mexico.

This is what we refer to as the "reverse summer pattern."

Morning lows will be in the mid 70s inland and near 80 at the coast.

Scattered storms will again start in coastal regions first, but then quickly spread eastward across the region. The coverage will be at about 40 percent.

The good news about this current pattern is that the showers and storms have movement, so even if it rains at your location it moves along and therefore doesn’t ruin outdoor plans.

Highs will again be near 90.

The storms will decrease in coverage Wednesday evening with lows in the mid to upper 70s.

Thursday will have fewer storms as slightly drier air moves into our upper atmosphere. There will still be a 30 percent coverage, but not as many as we’ve been seeing.

Highs will be in the low 90s.

Friday will also feature a below average rain chance at about 30 percent coverage.

Highs will be in the low 90s.
