ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — As expected there weren’t as many storms around the region today due to slightly drier air in the upper atmosphere above us.
The storms that did pass by were still heavy. Skies will be partly cloudy with just a few isolated showers overnight into early Friday morning.
Lows will be in the mid 70s inland, but around 80 at the coast.

Friday will be similar to today, with drier air in the upper atmosphere keeping our rain chances a little lower in the 30 percent range.
The few storms we do have will have an eastward movement again due to the onshore flow. They will start in the morning in coastal areas and move inland through the day, decreasing in coverage through the afternoon to evening. Highs will be in the low 90s.
Friday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the 70s.

We will see a slight uptick in atmospheric moisture Saturday, so we expect the coverage of storms to increase into the 40 percent range. Highs will be in the low 90s.
Sunday will see a 40 to 50 percent coverage of scattered storms with highs in the low 90s.
Atmospheric moisture will increase going into next week so expect an uptick in the rain chance. We will likely have a 60 to 70 percent coverage of showers and storms Monday into Tuesday.
