BARTOW, Fla. — Detectives have made an arrest in a homicide that happened Saturday morning in Bartow.
- Alston Frank Farris, 67, charged with first-degree murder
- Police say Ruth Anne Silvers, 62, was stabbed multiple times
- Investigation still under way
Bartow Police Department officers responded to the mobile home park at 2405 State Road 60 just before 6 a.m.
A woman later identified as Ruth Anne Silvers, 62, was found dead in the bedroom area, with authorities saying she was stabbed multiple times.
Police said preliminary reports indicated that this was a domestic related incident, and a male suspect is in custody.
The man was later identified as Alston Frank Farris, 67, who has been charged with first-degree murder.
A disabled adult daughter living with the two was taken into protective care.
