"The first crew did a wonderful job, and they moved it over to their storage," Campos said. "They're supposed to bring it from their storage to my storage."

Campos says the company then wanted him to pay $1,400 up front to complete the move. He tells Spectrum Bay News 9 he paid $1,000 before they unloaded the truck and agreed to pay the balance after the rest of the furniture was delivered.

But then, "My wife calls me up and says, 'You need to call these people. Everything they're pulling out is broken,' " Campos said.

He showed pictures that included a broken shelf, damaged table and chipped mirror. He says Movers Moving isn't releasing the rest of his belongings until he agrees to the conditions set forth.

"Their only dispute is this: They won't release unless I accept everything as is without seeing it," Campos said.

So Campos hired attorney Edward Reyes.

"We've asked him multiple times: 'Where's the furniture?' 'What's going on with the paper?' 'Do you have an attorney?' He's gone completely dark," Reyes said.

Reyes showed us emails he exchanged with the company over this matter. The company requested Campos sign a release-of-liability form, which he is refusing to do.

"What they're trying to get this customer to do is completely unfair and outside of the law," said Eric Diangelo, a business attorney who doesn't know any of the parties and has no involvement with the case.

Diangelo said Campos made the right decision in not signing the waiver.

"They're essentially trying to strong-arm this customer into signing a release of any damage before they know any damage exists," she said.

Movers Moving would not comment because Campos has filed a lawsuit.
