“People just want to embrace what’s going on downtown, and we are so happy to see that,” says Lynda Remund, CEO of The Tampa Downtown Partnership.

Remund says, there are over 14,000 residents living in the area, and expect those numbers to double in less than four years.

The partnership reported the number of downtown residential units jumped from 5,709 in 2016, to 7,546 in 2018.

So far, there are 2,000 units already under construction, and more than 4,000 new residential units proposed.

“Downtown has turned into everyones neighborhood,” says Remund.

Remund says she hopes downtown continues to be a 24-hour city, and is looking forward to all the developments to come.
