LAND O'LAKES, Fla. — A Pasco County man is donating his time and money to help out foster families.

George Agovino of Land O’Lakes is starting up what he calls a "foster closet." It’s a place for foster families and kids to get what they need.
He’s spent seven months fixing up an old house on Land O’Lakes Blvd that was donated to him. It will be the home of the Fostering Change Foster Closet.
“We could help a lot more children if we could just get them supplies,” Agovino told us.
As a foster parent, he sees how foster families and kids can use a helping hand.
“We know there’s a lot of kids coming into care that don’t necessarily have what they need,” Agovino said.
He sees the Closet as a place where families can get things like clothes, toys, hygiene supplies, and other things.
“Foster kids usually just get five minutes when they’re taken from a home — five minutes and a garbage bag," he explained. "That’s just unacceptable. So now they come in, they shop, they get what they need.”
The community has already turned out to help him with donations. He even had a roof donated by 1st Choice Roofing.
“Whatever the kids need to keep the children feeling like any other child,” Agovion said.
Fostering Change Foster Closet will officially open on Dec. 14.
