A Christmas scam alert you need to know about: people pretending to be priests are targeting churchgoers for money.
Father Gary Dowsey said a number of parishioners at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dunedin have received emails asking for donations. However, he said he isn’t the one sending them.
“I hope you would be inclined to help but I also hope your first thought would be to contact father Gary," Dowsey said.
He recommends contacting the parish office if you get any suspicious emails or texts. For the full story, click on the video link above.
