DADE CITY, Fla. — A historic building in downtown Dade City is being transformed into a new entertainment venue called The Block. Spectrum Bay News 9's Tim Wronka got a tour of the construction and found out what will be included inside.

Here are five things to know about the new venue:

  1. Developer Larry Guilford purchased the old car dealership on 7th street in downtown.
  2. The old brick structure is being transformed into The Block. It will include a wedding and event venue, outside bar, brewery, catering business, space for food trucks, and more.
  3. It will also house a new CrossFit gym, set to open in February.
  4. Business partners looked at Armature Works for some influence. They hope this brings more people and attention to downtown Dade city.
  5. The first phase, which includes the CrossFit gym, will open up next month. The entire project is set to be completed by June.

Here's the spot of the future CrossFit gym. (Tim Wronka/Spectrum Bay News 9)
