BRADENTON, Fla. — The Bradenton Police Department is investigating a deadly fight that happened up in a cherry picker on Friday.

Detectives say coworkers Rene Escobedo Balditt, 48, and Jessie Hernandez, 41, were on the aerial lift, painting an apartment building in downtown Bradenton.

That’s when officials say an argument ensued, and Hernandez took a knife out of his pocket and stabbed Balditt multiple times while on the lift.

Investigators say the victim was dead when first responders arrived.

Hernandez did turn himself in later that day, but his motive is still unclear.

“We will bring justice for this victim,” said Capt. Brian Theirs, Bradenton Police Department spokesperson.

Hernandez has been charged with second degree murder, and is in jail with no bond.
