MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — Starting Thursday, the Manatee County Health Department will begin drive-thru testing for COVID-19.

Patients with a prescription must make an appointment before coming to the Bradenton Area Convention Center to receive the test. The Department of Health will schedule 50 appointments each day from Thursday, March 26 through Sunday, March 29 beginning at 10 a.m.

To make an appointment, call (941) 748-0747.

What to know before you go:

Patients must have a photo ID or proof of residency and a prescription written by their health care provider.

Patients must remain in their cars at all times.

No walk up patients will be seen without an appointment.

According to a representative from the Department of Health, older patients or those with underlying medical conditions will not receive preference. The first 200 patients to call for an appointment and get the required documents will be tested for COVID-19.

The tests will be processed by LabCorp and results will take roughly 4 days to come back.
