ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A strong ridge of high pressure will continue into next week.

This will keep our temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s, especially away from the coast. We may reach record highs through the weekend.

Aside from the heat, there will be plenty of sun through the weekend and into the upcoming week.

Rain chances toward the middle of the upcoming week return but the coverage doesn’t look to be all that impressive.

Regardless, we may see a few showers around late Tuesday and Wednesday. A thunderstorm is possible.

Any rain we can squeeze will be beneficial. Fire danger will be elevated due to very dry ground.
