Barrington Hill will be hosting different proms in June and July for students in Pasco, Hernando, and Hillsborough counties.

“A fellow employee and I were discussing how the seniors were missing out on so many activities that are memorable later on,” said Barrington Hills Manager Alicia Trias.

Trias said at each event social distancing measures will be in place.

“We have 50 acres here so there’s ample space," she explained. "We have so much space here the front lawn — there’s going to be lots of different sections so they can space out."

Hernando County mom Kelly Castro has been helping organize the event for Hernando County seniors.

“It’s really all about just giving them something back and we also want to see Hernando County seniors this year come together," Castro said. "That’s been the other big theme, is this has never been done before so we have a chance to bring the seniors from all of our high schools together."

Capacity will be limited, though, to make sure students can remain safely apart.

“We’re parents as well, so health and safety has been our number one priority/concern since Day One,” Castro explained.

The event dates are as follows:

  • June 13 Hernando county
  • June 20 Pasco county
  • June 27 Sunlake High School
  • July 11 Hillsborough county
