TAMPA, Fla. — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested multiple people after a three-month investigation into a human trafficking operation.

According to Sheriff Chad Chronister and Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, six men were arrested and five women rescued.

The arrested men are facing trafficking charges, as well as RICO (racketeering) charges too, which would allow them to all be prosecuted as part of a criminal organization.

Chronister said deputies are working to identify more victims.

“If someone is taking advantage of you, like the victims in this case, I want you to know that myself, Ashley Moody and the nearly 4,000 men and women of the sheriff's office, are here to help you and provide resources so that you may take back your life,” Chronister said.
