  • EP to come out in September

We caught up with the soul singer at his Tampa home where he is working to finish a new EP coming out in September.

He started writing the song Humanity in 2015 and completed it as social justice protests began in 2020 after the murder of George Floyd at the hands of Minnesota Police.

Harris describes his work as soul music.

“My inspiration for doing soul music is, it's very, it comes from an organic place. And by that, I mean I grew up in the south -- Georgia to be specific -- in a little town called Manchester, just southeast of Atlanta. And I'm the son of a preacher,” Harris said, smiling.

Harris said the message of Humanity is simple -- we are more alike than different.

"That's what I hope, that this song not only becomes a great testament of the human experience right now,” said Harris, “but it also, in reflection, says that song really spoke to the hope that we all, I believe deep down inside, when it all comes down to it, we want to be, you know, in it together. And that's what I choose to believe.”
