PASCO COUNTY, Fla. -- Today's Everyday Hero is a martial arts fighter, coach, and instructor. He also teaches the importance of community involvement.

Jay Beharry is founder of Triple Point Community Outreach. Their goal is to have a positive impact for those seeking personal growth in mind, body, and spirit, so that balance leads to strengthening the bonds and goals of the community.

His motto is doing good where you live.

"In all honesty, I think it's all of our duty to make our community somewhere we want to live," he said.

The organization has held two events so far. The first was a free self-defense class for the community. The second event, they packed over 200 care kits for the homeless and less fortunate. The kits include personal hygene products, face masks, etc.

Triple Point Community Outreach has served North Pinellas and Southest Pasco so far. And many more projects are in the works.

Tireless in his passion and work, Beharry is also a martial artist with 17 years of experience, a certified MMA conditioning coach, and an instructor at New Port Richey Jiu Jitsu Academy.

Beharry said he is who he is in large part because of his dad.

"He was a great example of never shirking responsibility, working hard, doing whatever he had to do to provide. Really showing unconditional love."
