Pinellas County and the I-4 corridor’s prominence in the presidential election continues on Friday with another high-profile campaign visit – this time from Dr. Jill Biden, the wife of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

Dr. Biden will participate in what is being labeled as a “Get Out the Vote Drive-In Rally” in St. Petersburg, beginning at 6:40 p.m.

There is no location listed in the press release.

She will also be in Lake Mary earlier in the afternoon at a Woman for Biden event.

This will be Dr. Biden’s first in-person stop in the Tampa Bay area since she was in Tampa on International Women’s Day in March, shortly before the country shut down because of the coronavirus pandemic. She did make a virtual stop at Pasco-Hernando State College last month and has been making in-person visits with Joe Biden in South Florida in recent weeks.

Her visit coincides with the third appearance in Florida this week by President Trump. He is scheduled to speak at Ocala International Airport at 4 p.m. on Friday.

The President appeared at a campaign rally at the Orlando Sanford International Airport on Monday and was in Miami on Thursday night for a town-hall meeting broadcast on NBC.

And Dr. Biden won’t be the only family member of a presidential candidate in Tampa Bay on Friday. Donald Trump Jr. will be in Clearwater at 3 p.m.

These events take place as in-person early voting starts in many counties around the state on Monday, October 19. More than two million people in Florida have already voted by mail.
