HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — The body of the 54-year-old Tampa fisherman missing since Saturday has been found.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has recovered the body of Eugene Wilson Jr. Officials said there is no indication of any foul play at this time.

This remains an active and open investigation.

The Wilson family said took his boat out to go fishing Saturday night on the Bypass Canal near U.S 301. They hadn't head from him since.

"For him to go fishing at 8 o’clock and for us to not hear back from him just does not make sense at all," said Edward Wilson, Eugene's brother. He went on to say, “He’s just a person that’s loved by everybody. Everyone loves him. He makes everyone feel very comfortable.”

Wilson's family had been searching along the canal every day since he went missing.

Wilson had six children, family members said.

Deputies found a capsized jon boat in the canal and located fishing gear nearby. Detectives have not found any indication of foul play.
