TAMPA, Fla. — A Tampa police detective is now off the job.

Jarda Bradford, 38, was fired Friday after an internal investigation.

According to Spectrum Bay News 9 newspaper partner the Tampa Bay Times, Bradford is accused of tampering with evidence in a photo lineup as part of an ongoing attempted murder investigation.

Officials said Bradford violated seven department and city policies.

According to the Times, Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan said she failed to mask earrings in a photo lineup before showing it to witnesses, violating procedures that call for “overly suggestive details” to be removed from photos shown to witnesses.

Bradford's defense team says she had only been a detective for three months at the time of the incident and had not received proper training.
