MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — Manatee County has changed their vaccination pool website to an automated system called Everbridge.

This will allow users to create a portal, modify their information and opt-out of the vaccine.

“We are seeing a lot of people canceling,” says Manatee County Public Safety Director Jake Saur. “This new system will help with cancellations."

Residents will still be picked at random, and it’s only for new sign-ups.

If someone is currently in the Manatee County waiting pool they do not have to re-register.

“If you are already on our list, we have transferred your information to the new system,” Saur said.

Residents over 60 can sign up, but Saur said they will still focus on seniors most vulnerable.

“Our priority is 65 and older….I hope to get through that group that still wants the vaccine by the end of the month,” he said. “I believe we will go though to 60 to 64-year-olds very quickly as well.”
