Danielle Barton, 41, is accused of picking up an 8-year-old boy by his arm and throwing him to the floor at the school in New Port Richey, according to sheriff’s deputies.

The teacher told law enforcement officers the boy was making noise and would not stop.

Barton grabbed the boy by his arm and dragged him from his desk to another classroom, where she threw him down and sent him sliding into a cabinet, two other teachers told authorities.

The other teachers said they ran to help the boy, who said he was not treated fairly and the teacher should not have thrown him, according to authorities.

The witnesses reported the incident to the principal, who contacted the sheriff's office.

The boy did have some pain and bruising on his arm, authorities said.
