The next Mozart could be right here in St. Petersburg, and a new program at the YMCA hopes to find him or her.

The YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg and the Florida Orchestra have teamed up to offer kids a free summer of music lessons, and Saturday, they got their first taste of the fun.

From learning some violin basics, to hearing members of the Florida Orchestra perform live, kids say they can’t wait for the summer program to begin.

“My favorite part, was, well, all the parts were my favorite!” said 8-year-old Sammy.

The camp runs from June 14 to July 9, and is free of charge.
