PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — Red tide is still present in the Bay area and moving north, according to Pinellas County officials.

Experts said areas of Clearwater Beach, Honeymoon Island, and Fred Howard Park all reported medium concentrations, while most locations south of Clearwater have low to very low concentrations of red tide.

Fort De Soto Park Gulf Pier also has medium levels of red tide, which officials say could be connected to the higher levels coming out of lower Tampa Bay. Several blooms are still lingering in the Bay with darker water in some areas.
