DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Bethune-Cookman University is requiring students moving into dormitories or preparing to return to classrooms for the spring semester to take a COVID-19 test, the Student Health Service said in a letter to students.

People testing positive will not be able to check into a residence hall and will be required to leave campus immediately, the letter indicated. Tests will be conducted Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., on the scheduled dates of check-in.

B-CU will not provide housing for students who test positive, and no medical personnel will be available to monitor students testing positive and needing to isolate.

Masks will be required in all campus buildings and at campus functions, a continuation of B-CU’s current policy, health service officials said.
