Sam Kennedy is helping hundreds with their weekly meal prep through his service, Mind Over Matter Meals.
“It’s what I’ve always liked to do growing up,” Kennedy said. “Creating things, making things better.”
He started the meal prep service to help people stay on track on with their diets and fitness goals. Customers get several different meals a week that are already prepared for them.
Kennedy played college football at Coastal Carolina University, where he also studied nutrition. He and his wife moved to Wesley Chapel and two years ago, they started the business there.
“I got sick and tired of being sick and tired,” Kennedy said.
At first, Sam says he was making just 30 meals a week. Now, he has a full staff making 2,000 meals a week of all types. From breakfast tacos to beef bowls, he has a variety depending on customer needs.
Customers can either pick up their meals or Sam and his team deliver them all over Tampa Bay once a week.
Kennedy says his business went up during the pandemic with more people staying home but also trying to watch what they eat. Meal prepping has become more popular during the pandemic.
“There’s temptations as we know can set in,” Kennedy said. “And so what we focus on is trying to get you prepared for your week. So that you can have a healthier lifestyle.”
He also has more than a dozen drop off locations all around Tampa Bay at places like gyms, which has helped spread the word of mouth about his service.
“We don’t market much. We just want to provide the best ingredients at the cheapest price possible,” Kennedy said.
Kennedy says his team have come up with 500 different types of meals to give customers a healthy variety.
“I’m lucky enough to find something I love,” Kennedy said.
